This individual sound system comprises an audio transmitter (that is built into the Multivox computer), splitters ( normally mounted beneath the seats) and the personal sound modules. One splitter is required for each pair of personal sound modules.
A coaxial cable feeds the power and audio from the transmitter output sockets (located on the front of the Multivox) around the vehicle to each receiver unit. The Multivox system is driver controlled and allows up to 16 different languages of commentary to be replayed simultaneously.
The commentary from the Multivox computer is replayed through an individual sound system - which enables each passenger to plug in headphones and select the language & sound volume they require. Multivox computer - Industry standard, passive backplane, rugged PC - built into a dedicated enclosure with automotive power supply.
The driver’s display - a colour LCD monitor that is housed in a rugged, sealed enclosure.
The driver’s keypad - enables the driver to fully control the operation of the Multivox system and the "PLAY" key is repeated on the driver’s foot switch.
